In January, Leverton Search hosted the first of many Industry Leaders Roundtables for the year. Here we connected Heads of Client and Product within Alternatives, tucked‑away in Soho House, Mayfair.
We were thankful to bring together Investor Relations leaders from top tier private markets firms. Names include HarbourVest, Blackstone, Pemberton Asset Management, BlueOwl and Man Group.
The discussion centered around how IR teams are adapting to global growth and increasingly complex fund platforms. Key topics included cross-regional collaboration to alignment between institutional and wealth teams. We also touched upon standardised processes and close coordination with legal and compliance to maintain efficiency and consistent client service.
The discussion also focused on talent, compensation and technology, with an emphasis on retaining and developing junior IR professionals. Leaders shared (under Chatham house rules) the evolving incentive structures and how they build a strong culture. The growing use of AI tools across RFPs, legal review and workflow management was highlighted as a key enabler, helping investor relations teams scale effectively and focus on higher-value client engagement.
