Client Director – Public Equities

We are partnering with a highly respected global investment boutique to appoint an experienced Client Director within its Public Equities business.

This is a senior investment management business development and fundraising role, offering the opportunity to help drive the next phase of growth across a differentiated public equities franchise.

The successful individual will have a strong track record of raising assets across institutional channels, alongside an established network of investors across the UK and Europe. You’ll work closely with Investment teams and senior leadership to develop client strategy, build new relationships and grow assets across the firm’s public equity strategies.

The role would suit a senior asset management sales or business development professional with deep knowledge of public equities, strong relationships across sophisticated investor channels and the credibility to represent an established investment proposition at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead institutional and wholesale fundraising across a range of high-conviction public equity strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans across the UK and European investment management market.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with institutional investors, pension schemes, wealth managers, private banks, investment consultants and family offices.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities and convert investor relationships into new mandates and assets under management.
  • Represent the firm externally with credibility and authority across client meetings, conferences and industry events.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to existing and prospective clients, developing a detailed understanding of their investment objectives and allocation requirements.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Investment teams and senior leadership to shape client strategy and support long-term commercial growth.
  • Communicate sophisticated public equity investment strategies clearly and effectively to professional investors and asset allocators.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the firm’s institutional and wholesale distribution strategy.

About You

You’ll have significant experience in institutional sales, wholesale distribution, fundraising or business development within asset management or investment management.

You should have a demonstrable track record of raising assets and winning new mandates, supported by long-standing relationships across institutional and/or wholesale investor channels.

We’re particularly interested in professionals who can demonstrate:

  • 10–15+ years’ experience in institutional or wholesale business development within asset management or investment management.
  • A strong and demonstrable track record of raising assets and winning new investment mandates.
  • Deep relationships across institutional investors, pension schemes, wealth managers, private banks, family offices and investment consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of public equities and the ability to articulate sophisticated equity investment strategies to experienced investors.
  • Experience developing and executing fundraising and distribution strategies across the UK and Europe.
  • The credibility to engage with CIOs, investment committees, senior allocators and C-suite stakeholders.
  • A consultative and strategic approach to business development and client relationship management.
  • A genuine interest in responsible investing and sustainable capital allocation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
