After a busy summer period, the market has been fairly quiet in the last month. Luckily Leverton is gearing up for what is looking like an exciting November! Conversations about the workplace and women’s place in it
The Harvard Business Forum has a variety of Podcasts addressing issues that women encounter and share practical advice about being a woman in the workplace. The recent podcasts discuss how to develop a strong women network as well as navigating the tricky practicalities of disclosing salaries and commenting on the issues surrounding fair pay.

Investment Week spoke with the Head of Global Equities, Dr Ghadir Cooper at Barings this month. The article acknowledges some important messages which Barings’ own diversity group encourage. Our group, IMPACT, also feel very strongly about the importance for women in the industry to support and learn from each other.

The FCA has reported this month that despite “bold targets”, senior employees within financial companies are nearly as male today as they were 15 years ago. It commented that regardless of the size of firm, the proportion of women is higher in senior management roles than in client-facing roles.

It specifically draws upon research of Fortune 500 firms with female board members. Underlining how they performed better than those without females, when it came to return on equity.
